Location: Hybrid/Cannock Office

Salary: Up to £40,000 (DoE) + up to £20,000 commission per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities

You'll be converting qualified appointments into clients by running tailored introductory meetings, co-creating impactful proposals with the wider commercial team, and ensuring the solution presented aligns with client needs and commercial objectives.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Discovery Meetings - Conducting structured introductory meetings with prospective clients to gain a deep understanding of their needs and business goals. This will enable you to present Phoenix's value proposition in a compelling and relevant manner. 
  • Proposal Development - Collaborating with internal teams to develop tailored proposals, pricing structures and solutions. You'll also support the delivery of client presentations and play a key role in key pitch meetings. 
  • Tender & Project Support - Contributing to the preparation of key project bids and tenders, ensuring both commercial and operational alignment. Additionally, you'll be supporting pre-contract onboarding to ensure a seamless transition for clients. 
  • Forecasting & Reporting - Tracking conversion metrics and maintaining accurate visibility of the sales pipeline to drive informed decision making.

What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?

 

As this is a brand new role, you'll be starting from scratch. You'll need to enjoy working in a target-driven environment and actively building up your network as you navigate diverse and, sometimes, complex client needs and expectations. 

 

You'll be holding discovery meetings that require strong listening and consultative questioning skills to uncover each client's unique pain points and business goals. It can be challenging to tailor proposals that not only address these needs, but also align with their commercial objectives. 

Essential and desirable capabilities

We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Experience in client-facing consultative sales or relationship management.
  • Proven ability to present solutions, write proposals, and close deals.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to bridge multiple internal teams.
  • Experience with CRM systems (preferably HubSpot) and pipeline management.

 

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

  • Familiarity with tender/ bid processes and B2B service sales.
