Job Role: Business Development Manager - Event Sponsorship

Location: Hybrid - London - 2 days in office per week

Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities

As our Business Development Manager, you'll be working alongside our award-winning HSJ Events team! The team is incredibly dedicated and hugely passionate about delivering commercially successful events and marketing solutions that help improve patient outcomes.

 

You will use your experience, drive, and tenacity to secure new sponsors and exhibitors as well as retaining existing clients. Your strong sales skill set will help you to navigate senior decision makers to encourage them to utilise our events via sponsorship & marketing services to meet their objectives and grow their businesses.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive sales plan to deliver and/ or exceed your monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Proactively source & secure new business revenue in agreed territory whilst managing & growing existing accounts.
  • Balance consultative selling with selling the range of products in the portfolio.
  • Develop a pipeline of four times your monthly target.
  • Secure a minimum of 30 meetings a month, either in-person or via Microsoft Teams.
  • Seek, drive, and maximise sponsorship partnership opportunities by avoiding discounting and focusing on the value proposition to drive yield.
  • Forecast effectively - weekly, monthly, quarterly.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Build sponsorship spectrum, identify potential sponsors. 
  • Follow the client through to delivery, collaborating with our internal functions.

Essential and desirable capabilities

The essential experience needed for this role includes:

  • Extensive B2B event sponsorship sales experience in an events business, or similar.
  • Strong people skills, and relationship building experience
  • A successful history of hitting sales targets.
  • Demonstrable experience in finding and securing new business.
  • Experience of selling marketing solutions.
  • Good knowledge of SalesForce, Sales Navigator & Natterbox (or similar).

 

The desirable experience needed for this role includes:

  • Experience of business development, or similar, within the UK healthcare market.
