Financial Research Associates (FRA) is one of the nation’s largest conference organizations and the preferred source for executive continuing education.  Your primary role as a Delegate Sales Representative will be to secure senior level delegates for our fantastic world renowned conference portfolio. You will work with our industry expert producers, marketers and production leaders to understand the conference and target market, and build the value proposition to successfully drive paid sales.

Main Purpose of Role

As a Delegate Sales Business Development Representative you will be responsible for promoting our fantastic industry recognised live and digital events/conferences directly to potential customers, utilizing best practice sales techniques to convey our value proposition and “close” sales.

For the right person with the right attitude, this is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your sales career.  Outreach is via telephone conversations and personal emails complete with pertinent content and selling messages so you'll need to be a confident, competent communicator both written and verbal. 


You’ll have ownership of specific conferences/events with the responsibility for delivering the established number of delegates or quota per conference.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Responding to leads generated through our Marketing efforts - The marketing team creates hot leads then passes to you via a link between Marketo and SFDC for you to follow-up and close.
  • Building a network of social connections for reach into the targeted audience. 
  • Developing corporate partnerships that deliver multiple delegates from one corporate entity. - Act as primary contact for all delegate partnerships and monitor traction/engagement.
  • Identify top corporate influencers as acquisition targets and directly connect with them via social media, phone, email, etc. 
  • Manage Sales Pipeline – Track all leads and contacts in for pipeline visibility and coordination within overall sales function.
  • Own the Customer - Field customer service questions from potential attendees and ensure that all conference information reaches the targeted audience.
  • Provide Internal Market Feedback – We rely on BDR’s to understand the pulse of the audience and share that information with the entire team so we can react appropriately.

Skills and Experience Required

You will also need;


  • Experience in the same or similar sales type role.
  • To be a self-starter with a results orientation and strong task management ability with organizational skills to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Excellent Communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Outstanding telephone skills with experience of selling and closing via phone
  • B2B inside sales experience including building relationships at a corporate level to
    ensure multiple delegate sales via one decision-making contact
  • To be comfortable and confident when speaking to high-level executives.
  • To be persistent but not intimidating with a persuasive communication style both verbally and in writing.
  • B2B social media saavy and active.
  • High energy personality with a competitive spirit.
  • Proficient in (contact management, activity tracking, etc.) or another CRM.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
