    Job Role:  Global Information Manager - Statistics and Analytics 

    Location:  London, E1

    Salary:     £45,000 - £50,000 (DoE)

    Main Purpose of Role

    We are seeking a new Global Information Manager with strong technical skills to join our dynamic and exciting statistics and analytics team. The role focuses on people management, requiring someone to lead, coach and encourage the personal development of team members, the delivery of client projects (ongoing and ad-hoc) whilst maintaining statistical databases for over 180 countries, and furthering our own new and innovative data strategy.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Management of the statistics team, including:
      • Growing the technical knowledge of team members and facilitating their professional development
      • Leading and coaching the team members
      • Day to day line management
    • Oversight of all data-related projects
    • Maintenance of existing databases
    •  Development of the data strategy – ensuring that the data is used efficiently, managed like an asset and delivered to our clients both as a product and service.
    •  Prioritising and allocating resource for the team whilst balancing the needs of our existing databases, client projects, and data strategy
    • Answering client queries and participation in client meetings/demonstrations

    Skills and Experience Required

    We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...

    You will also need;

    • Experience in interpreting insurance financial statements, understanding of insurance financial information, such as financial statements, company accounts, and other sector data.Understanding of wider insurance business information, such as economic data, demographic data, political events etc.
    • Experience in analysing insurance financial data, such as company profit and loss results, balance sheets, underwriting statements, using industry knowledge
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
    • Experience in people management with a drive to grow the professional and technical expertise of the team 

    In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Good understanding of data management concepts
    • Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
    • Strong data analysis skills
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
    • Data Visualisation knowledge
    • Knowledge of BI tools (e.g. PowerBI)
    • SQL knowledge
    • Comfortable in dealing with large sets of data
    • Ability to work accurately and methodically
    • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
    • Strong and clear communication skills with both internal team members, colleagues and clients
    • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems and processes
