    Job Role:  Social Media and PR Manager

    Location:  Sutton Coldfield, B72

    This role is available for local candidates already authorised to work in the role’s country only.

    We are now on the lookout for someone who can develop our social media platforms, grow our social media footprint and enhance our earned media opportunities through PR.

     

    You'll need to be someone who is creative and a great copy-writer, self-motivated, with excellent social media and media relations skills as well as a natural ability to connect with online audiences. It's a fast paced environment so you'll need to enjoy working under pressure as well as loving the idea of using your creative skills to contribute ideas.

    Main Purpose of Role

    Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications you will be responsible for raising our international profile through the development of social media and PR strategies, content and campaigns execution as well as by forging effective relationships with key journalists and influencers.

     

    Social media

    • Develop our social media strategy, plans and campaigns to boost reach and engagement through SEO, ultimately driving brand awareness and new customer acquisition
    • Develop and maintain the editorial calendar and activities; management of social platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
    • Attend monthly meeting with in-house content team to plan future content and review past success
    • Create and proofread engaging multimedia content working with our in-house content team to ensure maximum impact
    • Liaise with internal teams, partners and other stakeholders to collate newsworthy content
    • Copywriting for all organic and boosted social media posts along with all reactive posts
    • Create and deliver an influencer strategy building relationships with relevant organisations, thought leaders, ICA members and advocates to increase our visibility and reach
    • Use Sprout Social to schedule and track all social media content (with the support of a digital marketing apprentice), ensuring suitable timings for an international audience
    • Deploy social media advertising budget across all platforms for boosted content
    • Post content and questions in other online communities e.g Quora and Reddit
    • Track and monitor the impact and success of campaigns to ensure deliverables are being met, reporting on a monthly basis
    • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding new tools and best practice

    PR

    • Develop strategies and PR plans that can be executed globally to grow brand awareness amongst our target audience
    • Leverage existing media and influencer relationships and build and cultivate new relationships with journalists and thought leaders
    • Work with our in-house content team to create proactive pitches to send to journalists and publications
    • Manage media inquiries and interview requests
    • Write and disseminate press releases
    • Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on a monthly basis

    Other responsibilities

    • Copywriting and proof-reading for other channels e.g email and print advertising
    • Creating web content to improve SEO
    • Occasional attendance at internal and external events such as open days

    Skills and Experience Required

    We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...

     

    We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment 

     

    You will also need;

     

    • Solid proven working experience in social media management and public relations in either an agency or in-house role (association, education, training or professional services an advantage)
    • A track record of creating and executing successful social media and PR campaigns
    • Business knowledge and experience of working with LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms
    • Demonstrable copy-writing and editing skills required combined with excellent attention to detail
    • An understanding of the importance of SEO and writing with SEO in mind
    • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a high-pressure environment
    • Can-do attitude with a willingness to get stuck in and make things happen
    • Educated to degree level and a relevant qualification in marketing or communications would be beneficial although personal qualities and real experience are just as important
