    Job Role: Content Developer (Legal Training)

    Location: Aldgate, London

    Central Law Training’s goal is to make learning and development easier for lawyers. They’re busy people with demanding jobs, and while they know that keeping their skills and knowledge up to date is important, it can be a struggle to make time for it. We’re adapting our approach to enable lawyers to undertake training how and when they want to.

     

    What will you be doing?

    This role plays a key part in this strategy: you’ll be researching the market and commissioning top-level speakers to deliver face-to-face and online training. You’ll be using your knowledge and commercial acumen to identify opportunities and bring these to fruition, working closely with colleagues in other teams.

     

    On a day to day basis, you’ll be liaising with speakers and other subject matter experts, researching potential training course ideas, writing and reviewing copy, keeping up to date with developments in law and practice, and reviewing delegate feedback, to name just a few of the areas of responsibility.

     

    You’ll have knowledge of the law and legal market, whether through work experience or study. A law degree will be advantageous, as this role requires you to get to grips with complex concepts and be able to communicate confidently about them.

    Skills and Experience Required

    We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...

     

    • The right to work or ability to obtain the right to work in the UK
    • An understanding of law and the legal market gained through study or previous work experience
    • Research and analytical skills to develop strong market knowledge, understand clients’ needs and identify what makes a commercially-viable training offering
    • Excellent relationship building skills (both internal and external stakeholders) and interest in getting out in the market to make new contacts
    • Demonstrable ability to pick up intellectual concepts around legal and business topics quickly and easily
    • Excellent grasp of spelling and grammar, and strong copywriting capability

    Before you go...
    While previous experience in a professional office environment will be beneficial, it’s not a pre-requisite for the role. More important are the ability to get to grips quickly with new concepts and ideas and the knack of building strong working relationships.
