    Main Purpose of Role

    This part time administrator job role will suit you if you are an experienced senior level administrator who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and provides high quality customers service.

    At Mercia we are a leading provider of training, marketing and support services to the UK accountancy profession.  This role sits within our technical services team. Technical services are made up of technical authors, consultants and a small administration team.  The entire team work collaboratively to produce a range of publications which support accountants in their day to day work.  We are also on hand to answer technical queries and we provide an auditing and consulting service. 

     

    In this part time administrator role, you will be responsible for several elements relating to the overall team purpose.  We are looking for an experienced administrator who is looking for 22.5 hours per week ideally over 3 days per week but we are open to discussion on this, and who has a 'can do' attitude.  You will need to be someone who likes and is able to work autonomously (once trained of course) and who enjoys taking ownership of all aspects of their work.

     

    We are an enabling and innovative team who are looking for someone whose work experience to date will allow them to bring fresh ideas on how we can enhance the support we offer to our internal and external customers.

     

    We have listed some of the key elements of the Technical Services Administrator job role below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list!

     

    Regular tasks include; 

    • Handling enquires from customers concerning our products and services via phone and email 
    • Proof reading publications and reports. Don’t worry you don’t need to be a technical expert just have a good degree of common sense and grammatical competence
    • Co-ordination of the end to end publication updates which will include liaising with the technical authors, ensuring updates go to the right customers and communicating with the marketing team to ensure the up to date information is shown on our website 
    • Administrative support to the technical services team ranging from invoicing customers, ensuring technical queries have been allocated to a consultant and performing customer checks so we comply with Anti-Money Laundering Regulations

    Skills and Experience Required

     

    What are we looking for? 

    • This role is available for local candidates already authorised to work in the role’s country only. Wilmington Plc will not provide relocation or sponsorship for this role.
    • Experience in a similar senior level administrative role
    • Strong literacy skills
    • Experience of proof reading documents is desired but attention to detail is essential
    • An organised, self-sufficient team player with a willingness to ‘get stuck in’ 
    • A good level of IT competence including word and excel and willingness to learn new skills with the appropriate training 
    • An understanding of the accountancy profession would be advantageous but not essential
