    Main Purpose of Role

    The marketing executive will be the lead campaign marketer for network events – supporting the Senior Events Manager and the Director of Network Events to develop a marketing strategy that drives delegate recruitment, content marketing leads, and sponsorship leads.  

    To lead strategic marketing planning and tactical implementation for network events which will include

    • Develop with senior colleagues the annual Network Events marketing plan
    • Own the execution of the annual marketing plan and take ownership of marketing activities and campaign planning as part of this
    • Research, execute and evaluate direct marketing campaigns (for offline and digital audiences), including working with the full range of WHC commercial teams for follow up and campaign metric reporting
    • Ensure all marketing communications are accurate, consistent and adhering to brand guidelines
    • Use all available marketing channels including automation (Marketo) to deliver recruitment campaigns
    • Utilising Salesforce database and incoming-lead management from Marketo
    • Develop engaging and where possible responsive marketing collateral across all platforms eg website content and social media feeds
    • Use content to engage targeted and segmented audiences appropriately
    • Ensure marketing and sales activity is measured and reacted to, in to support continuous improvement
    • Work with the WHC commercial team, management and client liaison lead to maximise engaged leads and conversion by providing supporting materials
    • Work with the Senior Events Manager and Wilmington experts to define audiences and develop content strategies
    • Ensure marketing of the network events are delivered within GDPR guidelines
    • Work closely with the HSJ marketing team
    • On site event day activity – engage with key stakeholders to ensure our key marketing objectives remain aligned eg delegates, speakers, observe table discussions, sponsor interactions. Develop relationships with key contributors to the event to support ongoing marketing activity.
    • Devise how to optimise the value of networks to all key stakeholders eg content sharing, video, interviews, articles, use of WHC journalists
    • On site attendance at other HSJ/WHC conferences and summits may be required to assist the wider team to deliver their events – this may involve some overnight stays

    Skills and Experience Required

    • GCSE English Language A*/A
    • GCSE Maths
    • Candidates would be expected to be educated to A level or equivalent
    • Experience in B2B events marketing preferred
    • Social media marketing
    • Working directly with sales people: lead generation and performance tracking
    • Marketing automation
    • Excellent communication skills: able to develop and maintain strong personal relationships with team members and external stakeholders
    • Structured and organised, but also flexible
    • Analytical and data focussed
    • Understanding of marketing metrics and KPIs, testing, performance measurement and the application of basic marketing principles
    • Clear understanding of the commercial business practices that underpin events, a strong commercial awareness and a clear comprehension of profit and loss/basic business principles
    • Brilliant communicator
    • Enthusiastic, ambitious and committed to a career in B2B marketing
    • Results orientated with strong attention to detail
    • Highly organised, calm and rational

    IT Experience

    • Marketing automation (Marketo or similar)
    • Sales CRM preferred (SalesForce or similar)
    • Strong Microsoft Excel and/or data visualization tools such as Tableau
    • Google analytics, web trends or similar preferred
    • Pay per click including Google AdWords and Linked-in
    • Website Campaign Management Software
    • Social Media campaign management (Sprout, Hootsuite etc)
