    Main Purpose of Role

    The Big Picture

    You’ll be asked to cultivate a deep understanding of our end users, understand how to communicated with them, what their needs and objections are, and how to motivate them to take action. You’ll be working with Marketing Managers to drive attendance to our events and will be the sole point of contact for all leads. You are the voice of the company.

     

    Who You’ll be working with

    This position will work beside our Marketing Managers, three designers, an email coordinator, the director of targeting, Sponsorship Sales Reps and the CMO. Collaboration with non-marketing personnel in the production and operations departments is also critical to success. The Business Development team provides critical feedback from customers that the company depends on for success.

     

    What You’ll be doing

    The business development representative will communicate directly with potential customers and sell them on the value of attending our events.  Responsibilities include responding to marketing generated demand, building a network of social connections through which you can reach the audience, developing corporate partnerships, and ultimately driving delegate revenue.  You are responsible for selling each conference from start to finish. This is a base plus commission position.

     

    • Respond to Marketing Generated Demand – The marketing team creates hot leads, you will close them.
    • Manage Corporate Partnerships - Act as primary contact for all delegate partnerships and monitor traction/engagement
    • Generate Leads - Identify top corporate influencers as acquisition targets and directly connect with them via social media, phone, etc.
    • Salesforce Pipeline Management – Track all leads and contacts in saleforce. Resulting in pipeline visibility and coordination within your department.
    • Educate the Customer - Field customer service questions from potential attendees and ensure that all conference information reaches the targeted audience
    • Provide Internal Market Feedback – We rely on BDR’s to understand the pulse of the audience and share that information with the entire team so we can react appropriately.

    Skills and Experience Required

     

    Who You are

    • Results oriented self starter
    • B2B Inside Sales person with experience building corporate relationships
    • Comfortable talking with high-level executives.
    • Extremely persistent but not intimidating
    • Persuasive communicator, verbally and in writing
    • B2B social media saavy
    • Strong task manager with great organizational skills who is able to prioritize and multi-task
    • Mature, discreet and reliable personality
    • High energy personality that has a competitive spirit
    • Proficient in Salesforce for basic functions (contact management, activity tracking, etc.)

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • A bachelor's degree
