Main Purpose of Role

As Technical Product Manager, you will take technical ownership of HSJ products namely HSJ Intelligence,, HSJ Solutions and the HSJ App. You will main point of contact with the 3rd party developers of each of these products and responsible for ensuring the products are maintained, enhanced and delivered in line with business needs.


The right candidate will have a solid background in delivery of technical projects/products and be well versed in liaising with technical teams and/or suppliers. Good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders will be vital to the success of the role. You will be able to translate technical challenges and constraints into plain English to suit the audience as necessary.


You will be responsible for defining and delivery of the technical product roadmap for these products working extensively with HSJ teams who define strategy and direction as  well as wider Wilmington Healthcare teams for delivery. You will be required to work with a degree of autonomy and take a proactive lead on problem solving for the products you are responsible for.


The role will be based in Wilmington Healthcare’s London offices with occasional travel to client sites and other Wilmington Healthcare offices (Basildon and Nottingham) when the need arises.


Main responsibilities:

  • To work under the guidance of the Operations Director
  • To take technical product ownership of HSJ technical product assets i.e. HSJ Intelligence,, HSJ Solutions, HSJ App.
  • Working with internal and 3rd party developers.
  • Main contact with the suppliers for the solutions in scope
  • Working with HSJ team stakeholders (manager, editor, customer services) to prioritise bug fixes and enhancements
  • Problem solving for the solutions in scope
  • Writing acceptance criteria and working with delivery and QA teams to ensure product releases are fit for purpose before go live. The successful candidate will be technical signatory for release for go-live.
  • Writing release notes and user guides for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing software and platform licenses ensuring maximum uptime.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop enhancements and create mock-ups and wireframes focusing on the end user.
  • Overseeing adops – liaising with adops supplier to add new ad-tags to sites when required and ensure content team know how to categorise content correctly
  • Definition and management of user analytics from products to provide relevant management information.
  • You will become the in house expert on the Webvision CMS and Advance subs database.
  • Managing the setup and delivery of newsletters within the products and troubleshooting where required.
  • Develop KPI’s for supplier and product management

Skills and Experience Required


  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Technical product management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working with product usage analytics e.g. Google Analytics
  • Commercial Awareness
  • 3+ years’ experience in technical product management or delivery of technical products
  • Hands on Supplier management experience
  • Working with delivery teams.
  • Working with Adops


  • Educated to degree level
  • Working with CMS systems and in particular Webvision.
  • Experience working with the NHS, tech, medtech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Working in a content publishing environment/industry
  • Knowledge of the NHS
