Main Purpose of Role

Working across two flagship online learning platforms, OnMedica and Wellards, you will be responsible for the day to day administration and uploading of content to the sites. You will also play a key role in maintaining the integrity and quality of the content on the sites, by checking for out of date information and working with the editorial teams to ensure that it is up-to-date and in line with user expectations. The role will require you to work on the CMS (content management systems) for each site, understanding and maximising the full functionality and capabilities of each to continuously improve the experience and learning journey for users.


The OnMedica platform is aimed at clinicians (doctors and nurses) for their continued medical education. The role involves uploading learning content such as courses, cases and clinical articles as well as news, views and blogs, as well as drafting/writing round-up articles. The Wellards platform is predominantly aimed at sales representatives working in the pharmaceutical and medtech industry to provide market knowledge and to ensure compliance required for their roles. Tasks include uploading course materials, exams, news and other client-generated learning materials.



You will undertake a variety of activities, some non-routine, with a substantial degree of personal responsibility and autonomy within agreed frameworks. It is important to be able to work both alone and as a member of a team. When working with clients there will be the need to deal with some confidential issues and to act accordingly.


Examples of responsibilities include:


  • Working with the site editor and editorial team to ensure content is uploaded in a timely fashion
  • Reviewing and sub-editing content where applicable, including proof reading, checking images/permissions, referencing 
  • Working with external contributors to ensure standards are maintained and content received as contracted

  • Checking and processing invoices from external contributors

  • Assisting with the creation and delivery of round-up articles (e.g. weekly ‘Drug and Therapeutics Update’ for OnMedica) and e-newsletters

  • Working with client support team to answer editorial questions

  • Sourcing news and researching content

  • Monitoring forums and user feedback

  • Supporting the editorial teams in any platform development or migration projects

Hours of work: 9am – 5.00 pm (30min lunch), full time Mon-Fri, permanent.

This is a predominately office based role but some visits to other Wilmington Healthcare offices will be required.

Skills and Experience Required



  • Essential: 5 GCSE’S A-C grades or equivalent including English language and maths.
  • Desirable: Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as English, journalism etc.

  • Some knowledge of the NHS or pharmaceutical industry or a clinical background would be advantageous


The post holder is expected to have a good understanding of how to:

  • Use a computer and tablet devices
  • Use the internet and e-mail
  • Knowledge of office IT systems are essential. Inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
