Main Purpose of Role

HSJ is the industry leading title for healthcare leaders. After more than 125 years in print, we recently marked the completion of our transition to digital by publishing our final print edition. We have a strong track record of new product development, with our recent launches HSJ Intelligence and HSJ Solutions winning prestigious awards from the PPA and AOP. Our transformation into a digital information business has helped us to buck the trend across B2B media by growing subscriptions and revenue.


We are looking for a content manager to lead the production and publication of HSJ’s content across our products. He or she will ensure content is optimised for publication, is accurate and looks attractive. They will also have the opportunity to be creative about how we promote our content on social media.


Key accountabilities

  • Managing day to day production of, email newsletters, the HSJ app
  • Managing workflow of team of offshore content editors
  • Validate all published content – before or after publication depending on importance/sensitivity – for accuracy, sense, readability and appearance
  • Produce graphics and research pictures
  • Working with suppliers, sponsors, editors and HSJ’s commercial team on sponsored content
  • General website maintenance – creating and updating section pages, taxonomy etc
  • Revamp HSJ’s social media promotion – produce graphics to improve appearance of content on social media

Skills and Experience Required


Candidate requirements

  • Excellent online subeditor
  • Some experience leading a team/processes
  • Ideally some HTML and Photoshop
  • Interest in public policy
  • Creative and enthusiastic – willing to try new ways of driving user engagement
