Main Purpose of Role

Mercia are looking for a Marketing Executive to join our growing team. This is a broad role leading various marketing functions within a dynamic department, but primarily focussed upon digital products including websites (totalsolution), social media and apps (mytaxapp). You will have the opportunity to work on integrated marketing campaigns and gain valuable experience across multiple channels. 

You should be a confident person with excellent communication and organisational skills to assist our Marketing and Product Development Manager with client liaison and system support. You will be required to interact with various departments, suppliers and clients, so you must be a confident communicator with a professional manner. 

Duties include:
•Dealing with clients on a daily basis, via phone, email and online chat
•Direct Marketing and digital campaigns
• Database management - Keep the marketing database up-to-date, importing new data, updating records and performing the necessary cross checks
•Prepare marketing statistics/campaign reporting
•Electronic filing as required
•Research new industry events and competitors
•Create and prepare materials for planned meetings, liaising with the Marketing and Product Development Manager
•Create and contribute to the project plans and strategies
•Online and Email Marketing Planning and Implementation
Increasing online traffic with digital related campaigns
•Review websites and upload marketing materials
•Monitor website analytics and report back as required / provide assistance in maintaining Google Ads/ Google AdWords and SEO activities
•Review and enhance social media activity
•Manage email distribution list including new subscriptions, opt-outs and bounce backs
•Plan and implement e-mail marketing activities
•Assist in producing marketing materials (brochures, online banners, merchandising)
•Work with Marketing Assistant to monitor literature stock levels,, order stock and implement any amendments to the literature
•Contribute ideas for new campaigns and supporting literature in conjunction with the Marketing Product Development Manager

Skills and Experience Required

Experience: A background in advertising/marketing/ is required and previous experience as a Marketing Assistant/Executive is essential.


Personal specification:
•1+ year experience in a marketing role
•Understanding of websites and online marketing is essential
•Experience of using Social Media
•Good communication skills (including excellent written skills)
•Good analytical skills
• Creative with a customer focused approach
•Excellent eye for detail
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Good telephone manner
