Main Purpose of Role

The main purpose of this role is to identify sales leads and sell the ICA and ICT learning services packages (qualifications and training) to be delivered on an in-company basis for specific markets.

The Business Development Manager is required to develop client relationships and increase the revenue and profitability of ICT’s in-house sales.

The role requires identification of and following up of new business opportunities, and setting up meetings, planning and preparing proposals and presentations, communicating ICA qualifications and ICT Training to clients, writing reports and providing management with feedback.

  • Achieve budgeted sales and profit margins that contribute towards ICT’s growth; track progress against targets and propose remedial actions if targets are not being met
  • Generate a robust pipeline of new client business opportunities by targeting prospective new clients; work with marketing to develop marketing strategies that support this approach
  • Ensure efficient and effective operating standards for sales administration, planning and reporting systems, managing the sales process from prospecting to negotiation.
  • Provide professionally presented proposals, presentations and other documentation that meet client requirements
  • Develop accounts from transactional to partnership through developing client relationships, using a range of key account management tactics and strategies and utilizing third party and stakeholder organisations where relevant
  • Submit weekly work in progress reports and ensure data is accurate for real time reporting.
  • Work with the inhouse team and other divisions to support and develop our large strategic accounts, including tender responses
  • Work with the Commercial Director and finance team to construct winning bids which meet the needs of the client.
  • Ensure company pro-forma process is accurately completed for all proposals and new business gains.
  • Support contract compliance through the negotiation of company contractual and payment terms, ensuring all aspects are understood and accepted.

This person in this role should be engaging and have a proven track record in sales to C-Level client base – global 500 companies.

They should also preferably have knowledge of the financial services sector.

Skills and Experience Required

Should be educated to graduate level.  They should be self-motivated and be able to work on own initiative and without supervision.  The person in this role should be able to maintain a good working relationship with people at all levels. 

The ideal candidate will possess drive for results, motivation and acute attention to detail.  They will be capable of working independently, able to use own initiative and cope with competing demands.

We are looking for a team player who is a strong networker both internally and externally and who has a positive attitude towards dealing with colleagues and clients.

  • Excellent communication and accurate, professional written skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft skills (excel, powerpoint, word)
  • Experience of using a CRM system

  • Strong numerical skills
