Main Purpose of Role

To assist in the development of the commissioning support business unit within Wilmington Healthcare for the markets of: NHS and the life sciences industry. This will be achieved through:


  • Liaising with prospective clients to attract new, and retain existing, business.
  • advise customers on how to effectively commission health and social care services
  • Research: Project initiation and scoping for new projects this role will have the responsibility for researching specific therapy areas to identify

                                     Key documents and pathways
                                     Common co-morbities and prevalence
                                     Demographic indicators
                                     Any other additional data sets that may be of value to enhance the client offering
                                     Identify ICD-10 and OPCS codes of value and run initial data analysis to establish any anomalies and identify additional data that may be of value

  • Write reports of publication quality using statistical and epidemiological evidence; identify appropriate opportunities for dissemination of findings including presenting reports to customersResearch prepare data prior to client meetings
  • RFP- conduct research when RFP are received to identify all and or some of the above
  • Horizon scanning key organisations for change, data, policies, guidance that may impact on the business and or market place.
  • Review and research new datasets and summarise key findings with recommendations for use
  • Summarise key findings from all projects as a report
  • Provides consultative support to the CEO
  • Attend client meetings

Skills and Experience Required

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Educated to Masters degree level (PhD desirable or equivalent)
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel
  • Good presentation skills and ability to communicate 
  • Innovation and creativity regarding solutions for identifying health care data .
  • Designing new approaches to the presentation of the data.
  • strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Industry and the NHS
  • Excellent Research skills
  • Excellent ability to analyse and present data, including using a variety of statistical techniques

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Project Management Skill
  • Knowledge of key NHS drivers
  • Knowledge of hospital episodes statistics and other NHS datasets
  • Good knowledge of MS SQL
