The Big Picture


The company is looking for a Senior VP of Content Development and Marketing who will be responsible for P/L leadership and setting strategy for the finance and healthcare conference divisions within this environment of dynamic change, business threats and opportunities. The Senior VP is accountable for the competitive success, profitable growth and marketplace leadership of our conference divisions and marketing team. The Senior VP gauges the needs of the customers and their exposures to both marketplace and regulatory pressures, and strategically leads his/her team of conference producers to respond to those needs with industry-leading event-solutions.  Additionally, revenue generation is equally dependent upon sponsorship fees earned by matching customer audiences with vendor opportunities for face time with prospective clients, requiring a skillful balance between the needs of both key stakeholders.


The divisions will achieve annual revenue growth in two ways.  The first of which from our existing portfolio of approximately 80 live events anchored by RISE Nashville which attracts over 1,300  attendees and 100+ sponsors committed to elevating performance across Risk Adjustment, Quality Data Analytics and Care Management.  Secondarily yet equally important revenue grow will be achieved by identifying new conference topics in the finance and healthcare arenas.   



Who You’ll Be Working With


This senior-level position reports directly to the Managing Director. You will become a member of the Senior Leadership Team of which there are five other members including the Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Sales, Director of Operations and Vice President of Strategy. You will manage the conference production team which is comprised of eight individuals as well as the team of three marketing directors.  Collaboration with the sponsorship sales, telesales and operations departments is also critical to your success. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

  1. Create and oversee the annual forward schedule of conference events that set forth ambitious revenue goals. Deliver on those P&L
  2. Assess the prospective profitability of the conference portfolio to determine new conference topic viability, factoring in both conference and sponsorship revenues, as well as predictable operating costs
  3. Manage and guide your conference production and marketing teams throughout the production lifecycle including topic development, agenda development, speaker recruitment, deadline management, on-site procedures and post-conference follow-up.
  4. Collaborate with relevant sales and marketing teams to drive revenue, execute new business ideas, generate new and refine existing production SOPs and identify opportunities to expand existing
  5. Coordinate and collaborate with the Executive Director of the Association and its advisory boards to leverage opportunities between the conference business and the association in pursuit of synergies and combined These include planning for Association meeting events, membership drives, awards, and other administrative needs.  Joint opportunities include certifications, future event sales, on-line training and education, webinars, user groups, and more.

  • Collaborative – able to work well with senior management as well as front line product, marketing and sales teams to ensure effective execution of organizational content strategy.

  • Fearless – able to dive into new market segments of which you have little to no previous experience of understanding of.

  • Rabid Networker – able to network with SMEs, senior managers, and C-Suites from a wide range of industry sectors, with amazing skill, ease and success.              

Education and/or Experience

  • Four-year college degree, MBA preferred
  • 8 - 10 years’ business experience in the healthcare or conference industry with extensive management and P&L responsibilities
